Ok boys and girls, the Antelope Island Fall Classic 50K is now on. Let the party begin. The date for this year’s Antelope Island 50K is November 14. A bit later this year, but it’ll give you a bit more time to recover from St. George, the Bear 100, Wasatch 100, etc. and get in one last ultra before shutting it down for the winter and hitting the slopes.
There will not be a 100K this year. After a couple of years of declining attendance, I couldn’t justify asking a bunch of lovely volunteers to stay out until around midnight for just a handful of runners.
Registration is now open. There will only be one way to register this year and that’s electronically. Go to www.ultrasignup.com and look for the Antelope Island 50K. The cost for the 50K race is $73.47 through October 31st, then we raise the entry fee to $84.98. Why the odd entry fee amount? Mainly because the race director is kind of odd. You’ll be able to register online until November 7th. I’m going to try having day of race entry this year and see how it goes. For day of race, the entry fee will be a nice round $85.00 Easier to make change that way. We’ll take cash (with ID), checks, and credit cards (provided I can get the reader to work). If you wait until race day, there is no guarantee of a race shirt or goodies in your goody bag.
